An Emotional Moment: Mother of an Autistic Boy gets hugged by Duchess Kate Middleton
London – A mother of an autistic boy could not control her tears when her son expressed his daily struggles to the Cambridge duchess during an awards function. The young boy is diagnosed with autism.
The Duchess lovingly consoled the mother – Ceri Knapton from Preston, Lancashire and put her arms around Ceri.
Ethan, Knapton’s son aged 13 years had opened up and spoke to the duchess about his condition during the Children’s mental health charity event.
Knapton recounted, “The Duchess leaned over me and said, “I have got to give you a hug as a mum”. She was thrilled about the duchess kind gesture.
A diagnosis assisted me in coping with the different experiences I faced during the course, said Ethan to Duchess.

His disorders, viz Asperger’s and Autism, aren’t just labels, rather a reality of what makes Ethan today, the way he is.
And he wants to use it to help other’s by speaking out, this is amazing said Knapton to Duchess.
